JSW’s Tuhin Mukherjee to join Essel Mining

Tuhin Mukherjee, the man widely credited for JSW Steel's recent mine acquisitions overseas , has quit the company to join the Birlas' unlisted mining arm,EsselMining.Mukherjee will replace Ravi Kastia, who has spear headed Essel Mining for the past five years. JSW Steel confirmed Mr Mukherjee's exit and said he was moving for what it described as 'better prospects'. Confirming  Mukh-erjee's appointment, an Aditya Birla group said that current Essel Mining managing director Ravi Kastia, will look after other businesses such as trading, thermal and wind power projects and ports. Mr Kastia will also oversee a fero-chem-which is a raw material used in the chemical industry-factory at Vapi and the textile unit at the Phillippines. Mukherjee led the Jindal group's efforts to match its growing steelmaking and power generating capacities with captive resources and the Mumbai-based group's recent acquisition of mines in the US, Canada, South Africa and Mozambique could be attributed to his team. 


VINOD K. LADIA ELECTED SRTEPC CHAIRMAN

Vinod K. Ladia, Founder and Chairman of the Shree Rajasthan Syntex Limited (SRSL Group) has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of SRTEPC last month. The Council is engaged in the promotion of exports os synthetic & rayon textiles and exports of these items at present amounts Rs.19,775 crores. Ladia, a Graduate from Textile Institute of  Technology, Bhiwani and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (MBA) from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He started his career in the year 1968 as a OSD with M/s J.K. Synthetics Ltd. 


Sanjay Sachdev appointed CEO of Tata Asset Mgmt

Tata Asset Management Ltd, said that it has appointed Sanjay Sachdev as its President and CEO. Sachdev comes with a strong financial services background and over 23 years of experience in the industry. He spent 12 years in the Principal Financial Group — first in the US as Global Manager/International Investment Officer, and then from 2000 to 2006 in India as Managing Director/Country Manager of Principal-PNB. He was responsible for setting up Principal's asset management and wealth management businesses in India in partnership with IDBI and later with PNB and Vijaya Bank and their subsequent growth and success, a press release issued here stated. 


Anil Sardana appointed as MD, Tata Power

Tata Power has announced the appointment of Anil Sardana as its Managing Director who will take charge from February 1. Sardana will replace Prasad Menon, who is retiring on January 31, a press release issued here said. An electrical engineer from Delhi College of Engineering, Sardana has been the Managing Director of Tata Teleservices Limited for over three years and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited for the last six months. Sardana brings with him over three decades of expertise in the power sector and has worked with companies like NTPC and the then BSES, the release said. 


T. Ravi Prasad appointed ADG Medical wing, ITBP

T. Ravi Prasad, Director Medical of ITBP has been appointed as Additional Director General of Medical wing of Central Para Military Forces. Recently, he took over charge of ADG (Medical) at ITBP HQ. He has an ENT Specialist. He took over charge of Directed Medical of ITBP in 2008. He joined ITBP medical wing in 1978 and completed his medical studies from Andhra Medical Collage. He is first officer from south to be chief of medical wing of all the Central Para Military Forces.


Rakesh Sethi joins PNB as Executive Director

Rakesh Sethi has joined PNB as Executive Director, in place of Nagesh Pydah. Sethi was working as General Manager of Andhra Bank before joining PNB while Pydah has been elevated as CMD of OBC.  Rakesh Sethi has made career progression from Manager in 1978 to the post of Executive Director. He worked successfully in various capacities in different functional areas of mainstream banking including the more technical ones like Foreign Exchange and Risk Management. Sethi also gained an insight into the most important segment of retail portfolio when he was deputed to the Home Finance Company of Andhra Bank for four years. Further, he had also been handling the operations for the entire Northern region of the Bank. 
Rakesh Sethi has worked at corporate office as well where he handled Integrated Risk Management, Deposit Planning, Corporate Communications and Govt. Business.


B C Tripathi Appointed Chairman, IGL

B.C. Tripathi, has taken over the resposibility as Chairman of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), a joint venture of GAIL (India) Ltd. and BPCL along with the Govt. of NCT of Delhi. B.C. Tripathi is also the CMD of GAIL (India).
